Day 1 (Crew Pack & DVD): Classroom Session
For those who choose to have the physical course materials, the first day of the Open Water Course will consist of a classroom session that will run for approximately 4 hours. During this time period you will review the knowledge development with your instructor, followed by four quizzes and one comprehensive final exam.
Day 1 (eLearning): Quick Review Quiz
Those who choose to complete their knowledge development online are not required to participate in the classroom session. Although this option eliminates the need for the classroom session, all eLearner students are still required to come in prior to the first day of course during our shop hours in order to take a quick review quiz and to get fitted for gear.
Day 2: Confined & Open Water Dives
This will be the first water day of the Open Water Course, which will take approximately 8 hours to complete. The first half of the day will be dedicated to learning the 5 confined water skills in a pool/confined water facility. After a quick lunch break, you will continue on to complete the first two open water dives of the course.
Day 3: Open Water Dives
This is the second and final water day of the course, which is estimated to take 5 hours to complete. This day will be dedicated to completing the last two open water dives, typically done in the ocean. Upon successful completion of all the skills, students will be certified PADI Open Water Divers.
