Cocowalk in Coconut Grove Cocowalk in Coconut Grove
Located in the heart of trendy Coconut Grove, this open-air multi-level "shoppertainment" complex is a sophisticated and festive melting pot of international music, eateries, and stores.

A pioneer in perfecting the urban entertainment concept, CocoWalk is an international prototype for the shopping center of the future. Extensive resources were put into this location in the center of the village to make it comfortable for local residents. Tourists naturally followed. Open seven days a week, visitors will find nearly 40 brand-name and independent shops, including Victoria's Secret, Blockbuster Music, Banana Republic, and The Cheesecake Factory. If you like white clothes stop at the White House; if you dress in black, drop by the Black Market. Ground-level kiosks bulge with beads, incense, herbs, and cigars. Upstairs are the restaurants and nightspots, which stay hopping until 2:00 a.m. The spacious and welcoming brick-paved courtyard plays host to live music every night and on weekends. There is always something to hold your attention. Bands and musicians perform inside the nightclubs and in the courtyard. Artists, musicians, sports stars, and visiting celebrities stroll through the beautiful terraces, which are highlighted with Victorian-style lamps.

Parrot Jungle/ Jungle Island Parrot Jungle/ Jungle Island
Austrian born Franz Scherr came to America in 1911, and 25 years later, he started a most unusual tourist attraction, Miami’s Parrot Jungle. He had a love for nature and wanted to share his passion with his family. Franz wanted to create a place where birds could “fly free” so, he built a winding nature trail was dug through the coral rock and hammock land, leaving the natural flora untouched to sculpture what is now known as Jungle Island. Come and visit a place where flowers and trees can grow untouched and birds "fly free."

Places of Interest

Vizcaya Vizcaya
Vizcaya was the winter residence of American industrialist James Deering from Christmas 1916 until his death in 1925. Deering was a Vice President of the International Harvester Company, which produced agricultural equipment for a worldwide market. He chose a bayfront site in Miami for his tropical winter home because of the location’s temperate winter climate and his appreciation of the native hardwood hammock. In addition, his father, William, had already settled in Coconut Grove and his half brother, Charles Deering, would soon develop an estate at Cutler, in what is now south Miami-Dade County. The latter is now operated as The Deering Estate at Cutler.
Barnacle Historic State Park Barnacle Historic State Park
This beautiful house with a whimsical name dates to a quieter time. The Barnacle, built in 1891, offers a glimpse of Old Florida during The Era of the Bay. Situated on the shore of Biscayne Bay, this was the home of Ralph Middleton Munroe, one of Coconut Grove´s most charming and influential pioneers. Munroe's principal passion was designing yachts. In his lifetime, he drew plans for 56 different boats. As a seaman, civic activist, naturalist, and photographer, Commodore Munroe was a man who cherished the natural world around him. A walk into the park passes through a tropical hardwood hammock. In the 1920s, it was representative of the original landscape within the city of Miami. Today, it is one of the last remnants of the once vast Miami Hammock. Enjoy sitting in the rocking chairs on the spacious porch used as a gathering place or on a bench under a tree for solitude.
