The Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program is one of two distinct components of PADI’s Instructor Development Course (IDC)—the core of PADI Instructor training. The first portion is the Assistant Instructor course followed by the Open Water Scuba Instructor program.

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Course $1,295.00

The PADI Instructor Development Course is designed to prepare qualified candidates to become PADI Instructors. IDC Course is 8-10 days long depending on two different options. The PADI Instructor Development Course consist of a series of slide presentations, a knowledge development session, confined water practices and open water practices. The slide series are divided into two different sections. The full course with Grove Scuba is about 10 days long and it's a total of $1295.00 plus material.

If you take the first section online with PADI E-Learning it's only $360 paid directly to PADI and the cost with us will be $1095.00 plus material for the remaining portion with Grove Scuba. The IDC at this point is only 8 days and it is a convenient way to start studying at your own pace before coming to Miami. Sign up now!

The IE is taken with an examiner from PADI over the course of two days. It's a fee of $657.00 to PADI and that is paid the first day of the exam.

After completing your IDC, we offer the PADI master scuba diver trainer prep course. With this course you will be certified to teach 5 specialty's of your choice once you complete your instructor exam. This course is about 2 days long in addition to the IDC and it's a cost of $400 plus the separate application fees for each individual specialty course.

Accommodations are available starting at $60 a night. There are several choices within a block or two of the shop. Depending upon your preference, you may have access to a pool, gym, restaurants and bars all within walking distance.
